Speaking of contests…

Wade on Birmingham is still giving away two (2) sets of passes to the 2nd annual Preserve Jazz Festival in Hoover, AL on June 1 – and you’ve only got until 12 p.m. TODAY to get over there and enter to win!

The festival brings together some of the biggest names in smooth jazz and gives you a great venue to enjoy it in! Go on over there…

So, about those City Stages tickets…

When we last left our friendly neighborhood blog for the holiday weekend, we teased you about giving away tickets to City Stages 20 this week(we also teased about our upcoming concert in July, but more on that later on)…

Despite some delays this morning, we’re now happy to finally invite you to enter our latest contest! We’re giving away two (2) sets of weekend passes to the music festival each week for the next two weeks.

So don’t just sit there, enter for a chance to win (and tell your friends too).

Time to get out the white shoes

Here it is, Memorial Day weekend. Down South here, I’ve learned that means head to the lake. Or beach. Any type of body of water will do. And while it will be a little quieter around town this weekend, that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to do.

So put on your white shoes and head on over to Timetable read on. And keep the comments coming.

Birmingham-based Health Magazine, part of the Southern Progress stable of publications, got some kudos from Matt Mullenweg, founding developer of WordPress (the software used to run this very site incidentally, at least this version is), for their use of the open-source software on their recently redesigned website yesterday.

So we’re thinking that you need to check it out.
