So, are we going away?

About a month ago, I announced that we were seriously considering shutting the site down effective May 30. (Surprise to everyone who didn’t see it…) Well, we’ve made a decision: while we are still a long way from achieving our financial goals, we’re not going away – at least not yet.

We wanted to make sure that you knew that before you figured out that we weren’t going to be making posts to the site through early Tuesday morning. When we wake up from the long weekend (at around 10 a.m. CDT), we’ll be letting you know about how you can win passes to City Stages 20!

We want to thank those of you that have given to the site or purchased a Terminal T recently. While we still have a ways to go, we’ve enjoyed meeting a growing readership – one that is becoming more engaged all the time. We’ve had several inquiries about writing in recent days and we’re always looking for more.

One reason for our decision is the fact that there will be a concert on July 26 to help raise funds for the continued operation of the site. We’ll share more information as it becomes available, but here’s what we know now: it will be at The Bottletree with The Green Seed, The Monarchs, Vulture Whale and one as of yet unnamed act performing with Fresh Ground Comic Christopher Davis hosting.

I’m not sure if we’re being stupid or gutsy for sticking it out, but we’re about to find out.

Just don’t forget to check in at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday…

Thanks for your continued readership and we look forward to sharing additional progress in the near future.
