So what’s up with our calendar?

That’s been a popular question in recent weeks… it’s not because we aren’t wanting to put information up. It’s because we’re preparing to launch a new one. We wanted to make sure that we were offering the best services possible while living up to our tagline of being Birmingham’s hub. It’s our hope to launch our new system (and a couple other surprises) in two weeks. If you want to learn more and want to help us launch it, drop me a line.

In the meantime, we’d ask that you use our current calendar submission form or email/DM/call us using the many methods available on our contact page (though we’d suggest sending event submissions to timetable@bhamterminal.com).  We’ll do our best to post information about events on Timetable (which is also undergoing a redesign of its own of sorts – pardon the construction).

A thank you from the hub!

I just wanted to take a moment and thank the 140 people that came out and showed some love for the hub last night at The Bottletree (some of whom are pictured above)!

I also want to thank all of the bands that performed last night as well as Christopher Davis, the staff at The Bottletree, Travis Morgan of Skybucket Records for setting up our line up and Adam Stoves for his poster design.

We’ll be sharing photos from Saturday night both here on the site (link to follow) as well as on our page on Facebook both later day and tomorrow. I’d invite you to do the same either by submitting your photos to photos@bhamterminal.com or if you have a Facebook profile by adding them to our page’s fan album.

BTW – No matter where you were, we want to know how much fun was it last night?

Introducing Terri Osborne

For those of you who have been following the hub a while, you may have noticed that Timetable contributor Terri Dann has been silent in recent months. Well, a while back she and I had talked and decided that with planning for her wedding her portion of the In Love With column could wait…

Well, Terri and tied the knot with Ben Osborne on Saturday. Congratulations to both of you!

FYI – Mrs. Osborne let us know that she hopes to return to the column next month (maybe even with a piece about how much she’s happy that wedding planning is over!). Now if I can remember to change her name on the site before then…

Now with new contributors!

If you’ve been following Timetable recently, you may have noticed that posts are going up on a far more frequent basis than before. There are a couple reasons for that, most notably our newest contributors to The Terminal, Libby Sexton & Whitney Sides.

Check out Whitney’s bio over on our staff page; then head on over to Timetable tonight so you could learn some more about tonight’s performance by The Warlocks at Bottletree.

We’ll hopefully have Libby’s bio up soon, though you can go ahead check out her latest post about Birmingham’s options for barbecue.

The Mojo’s in Texas now…

Probably not what you’re expecting from us first thing on a Monday morning. But we had to take a moment and bid a fond farewell to an early supporter and contributor to The Terminal.

Chris “Mojo” Denbow has packed up and headed west, to Houston, TX. We hope that we’ll still see him around from time to time. If you aren’t familiar with him, you may want to check out one of the many online homes that he maintains.

Thanks for everything & good luck!

Yes, we know it’s a little slow…

We will be updating The Terminal’s layout this evening beginning at about 11 p.m. We are hopeful that we’ll be finished with the adjustments in time for John’s 7:45 a.m. post but there may be a chance that it might take just a little bit longer.

The changes will not be readily apparent but they are coming because we are aware that anyone who normally looks at The Terminal using any current version of Microsoft Internet Explorer is currently suffering through extremely slow page loading times. Considering that it’s most of our readers, we think we’ve got to take a look at it. We haven’t heard of any issues with Safari or Firefox, so you might consider trying out these browsers. Otherwise, please be patient.

Thanks in advance.

So, about that announcement…

We did promise an announcement about July 26 today, didn’t we:
