Where to turn for weekend ideas…

Starting to wonder what there might be to do this weekend? Christina was too. That’s until she talked to Charles and got the lowdown. Of course, she’s going to share it with you over on the Timetable.

BTW – yes, it’s true that Sam no longer writes for The Terminal. We had hoped he’d write a going away piece for us, but you’re still able to read his picks over on his music blog, r3vrb.com. This of course means that we’d love to find someone to take his place and someone who may be interested in reviewing new music as well. Let us know if you’re interested using any of the methods found on our contact page.

Friday the 13th, Sloss Furnaces

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED!

The folks at Sloss Furnaces have decided to take advantage of the date on the calendar (and being one of the most haunted venues in the region) by showing the 1980 classic horror film. Just in time to start planning to watch the new film due out in 2009.

They’ll show the film in the cast shed, provide chairs if you don’t want to bring your own, and free popcorn! You’ll also be able to bring in your own food and drink. A great spooky venue indeed…

For more information please visit their website or call 205.324.1911.

Cost: $5

Finding way to stay cool over on Timetable

While some would like to use the fountain in Linn Park to stay cool, but we’re pretty sure that the folks in City Hall would appreciate it if you didn’t. Charles figured that he’d offer a few suggestions for places that wouldn’t mind seeing you visit to keep cool (and hopes you’ll add to his list) over on Timetable.

But there are plans for the weekend…

This is where we’d run the really cool lede for Christina’s weekend plans column. However, if we did that this week, the column just wouldn’t make any sense if you forwarded it on to your friends (and you are doing that aren’t you?)

Anyway, check it out over on Timetable and you’ll figure out why the Big Guy atop Red Mountain, Harry Potter and jazz can be mentioned in the same breath this week…

How to spend a rainy day

Our area meteorologists are saying that we’re not going to see a lot of rain until at least Sunday.

According to Charles, you really shouldn’t be using that as an excuse not to go to one of the newer establishments along 2nd Avenue North downtown.

Time to get out the white shoes

Here it is, Memorial Day weekend. Down South here, I’ve learned that means head to the lake. Or beach. Any type of body of water will do. And while it will be a little quieter around town this weekend, that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to do.

So put on your white shoes and head on over to Timetable read on. And keep the comments coming.
