Election ’07: Our stationmaster’s thoughts on the election

We figured some of you were waiting to hear what our managing editor thought about last night and what it may mean.

Well, here it is.

A look around the station: The Loaf likes Charles’ comments

They at least like them enough to link to this post over on my Birmingham. Charles Buchanan’s comments come after a visit two weekends ago to our neighbor to the east and André’s piece on urban fabric. It’s an interesting piece and they’re taking a look at it today, so why don’t you?

NOTE: Charles is a regular contributor to the site, normally over on Timetable and the guy who came up with the cool Terminal Station print for the site.

Speaking of Timetable, we’re trying to play catch up to all of the things going on around town. We’re also wanting to shine a spotlight on one local artist’s attempts to expand our city’s reviews of art shows. M. Blue Horn has begun posting podcasts to her personal site and… well head on over and find out.

From the Stationmaster: Elsewhere on The Terminal

The world keeps on moving and we wanted to make sure that you were aware of what was going on around the site.

  • Timetable has details about Get Downtown and McWane Science Center’s new adult after-hours event, both scheduled for this evening. The second story also includes some links to some of the newer events that will keep folks busy during the fall months.
  • Our stationmaster has made a return to editorial action over on my Birmingham talking about our urban fabric, and if we’re really trying to save it, or develop it into what we think we want. It was originally supposed to be the first part of a series tied to our ongoing election coverage, and it still relates, though its purpose is a little different.

Today’s my Birmingham writer: Sean Saffle

Head on over to my Birmingham this afternoon and check out Sean Saffle’s submission. It’s definitely something to consider as today we will top 100° again.

CommuteSmarter, not harder
