The Roots are playing City Stages
That’s the word according to AllHipHop.com.
Earlier this afternoon the world’s most dangerous site posted the tour schedule for the Philadelphia-based hip-hop ensemble. If the June 13 date is true, this could give us a good idea of the types of acts that are being booked for the world-class music festival‘s 20th anniversary.
The Roots‘ appearance would be in part to promote their new album, Rising Down, scheduled for an April 29 release. Incidentally, the April date is also the anniversary of the LA riots sparked by the acquittal of the officers who beat Rodney King.
UPDATE – 3.29.2008: Just found out that Old Crow Medicine Show’s playing City Stages on June 13. (read more)

We’d hoped to get this up yesterday, but the fun thing about technology is that sometimes it chooses not to work. Thanks for coming out on Friday!
We’d like to take a moment and thank everyone that came out to our anniversary party on Friday evening. The weather ended up playing nice and it sounds like a good time was had by all. At least, we hope so… Click on the image to the left to see photos from the event.
We’re working on uploading some audio, but I still think that Friday’s editorial says what’s needed much better. We’ll keep trying though… We’re holding off the announcement for one more day to make sure everything’s working OK.
