WERC 960AM’s logo for Larry’s 8 Ball. Special to The Terminal.
So maybe we’re a little envious of not thinking of this first…
The folks over at WERC-AM have decided to introduce the World Wide Web to Larry’s 8-Ball. We got an email from the ClearChannel owned station providing a link to their website’s newest feature.
It’s quite simple – think of a question, click on the ball to give it a shake and then turn up the volume to hear Larry’s answer.
Check it out for yourself.

If you’ve got some time in about 10 minutes, Birmingham city councilor William Bell will be holding a news conference on the Richard Arrington, Jr. Blvd. side of the Jefferson County Courthouse downtown to “discuss the current financial state of the Jefferson County Commission as well as the current status of the unseated and disputed District 1 Jefferson County Commission Election.”
SCLC President Bishop Calvin Woods will be joining Bell, who won the special election called to fill the vacancy left by the election of former Jefferson County Commissioner Larry Langford as mayor of the city of Birmingham.

Ironically on the anniversary of the Olympic soccer countdown beginning at Legion Field for the 1996 Olympics, it was reported that the U.S. women’s national soccer team will make its return to Birmingham and The Old Gray Lady on May 3. It’s a tune-up for the national squad as they prepare for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the first time that Legion Field has been used by either of our national soccer teams since the installation of an artificial turf playing surface in 2006.
