A lot of folks love the nuggets made available on our site weekeday mornings courtesy of BhamWiki. Now they’ve made it so you can get information from them even more often.
They’ve recently created their own BhamWiki Twitter profile, we think in part to expose people to everything that’s on it. We also think it’s a great way to maybe get some more folks interested in getting involved with the project. We’re definitely planning to use the wiki more often as our site begins to morph yet again.

Birmingham is mourning the loss of a native son and a pioneer this morning as word continues to spread about the passing of Lou Zaden, owner of Lou’s Pub and Package Store, on Thursday. He had just celebrated the business’ 21st anniversary last week.
Funeral arrangements have been announced; The visitation and the funeral will be held at Saint George Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 425 16th Avenue South. The visitation is Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m.

The banner says it all, though it did look open. Their relatively new location in Pepper Place allows folks that buy coffee from them during farmers market season to have somewhere to hang out the rest of the year. Looks like they’re already booking acts too, as the poster said there was a show set for August 24. It may be an excuse to check it out.
