Critical Mass ride, Linn Park fountain

Every last Friday of the month area cyclists meet at the Linn Park fountain to … well, cycle. They tell me there is no ride leader or leader of any sort but it’s an easy way to socialize and cruise Birmingham while celebrating cycling. For more information, you can e-mail the group at cm.bham@gmail.com or connect with their Facebook page, Critical Mass Birmingham. Just make sure you get the right Birmingham.

Looking for a source?

So, you want to be considered for a source for a story written in town? Or maybe you’re looking for a source… OK, I admit that this isn’t always the first question that pops into my mind first thing in the morning (and I’m assuming it doesn’t just pop into yours either). Thing is, even if it does, currently most of the options available for registering or seeking out “experts” or “sources” online (including helpareporter.com) are on national and not local or state based.

Well, now there’s a new site trying to provide the same service for folks here in Alabama. SourceBarn has been enjoying a soft launch, but we figured it was time to point a few folks over to the free site set up by former Fox 6 reporter Atticus Rominger. Check it out and let us (and him) know what you think.

Are we Olympics-bound? I’ll share my thoughts if you share yours…

I spent most of the day looking at the public feedback based on Mayor Langford’s announcement on Friday and writing my own commentary on it.

Check it out and then let us know what you think about Larry’s Olympic-sized dreams

Where to turn for weekend ideas…

Starting to wonder what there might be to do this weekend? Christina was too. That’s until she talked to Charles and got the lowdown. Of course, she’s going to share it with you over on the Timetable.

BTW – yes, it’s true that Sam no longer writes for The Terminal. We had hoped he’d write a going away piece for us, but you’re still able to read his picks over on his music blog, r3vrb.com. This of course means that we’d love to find someone to take his place and someone who may be interested in reviewing new music as well. Let us know if you’re interested using any of the methods found on our contact page.
