East Lake Farmers Market, East Lake United Methodist Church parking lot

For those who live in the city’s eastern section, you don’t necessarily have to go that far from home to find fresh local produce. The East Lake Farmers Market takes place every Saturday through the end of the growing season in the parking lot of the East Lake United Methodist Church (the corner of 78th Street & 2nd Avenue South) with live entertainment every week (rain or shine).

Cost: Free

So why pick a charity?

We recently asked that people to pick a charity, but we never exactly told you why. Well, now we’re telling – we’re planning to have you vote for which nonprofit will benefit from our official launch party on Wednesday, August 29. This will also serve as the second annual Happy Hour for a Cause. Travelogue: Columbus impressed with Art on the Rocks

We figured every once in a blue moon it might help to see what others think of some of our events here in the Magic City. This first entry takes us to the Commercial Dispatch in Columbus, MS and an extremely positive review of a recent visit to Birmingham for their first trip to Art on the Rocks. The writer talks about the effects that the summertime series has had on our museum and downtown revitalization and how it may be transferred in their community.

The board, powered by WordPress, provides a one-stop shop for job seekers to learn about opportunities in our technology & web development industries. It looks like another great tool to make people aware of what’s available here in Birmingham and the surrounding region.
