Catch up on Timetable

A little bit of everything today over on Timetable as we talk about an appearance by Razorcake co-founder Sean Carswell tonight at Bottletree, Charles’ thoughts about interesting options for night life in The Magic City and Whitney’s chance to catch up with musician Taylor Hollingsworth about his current tour (and if he’s gotten back all of his equipment yet).

Check it out… yes, right now! Traffic can wait…

Or you can just subscribe to Timetable’s RSS feed to keep up on a daily basis.

Don’t stop the bus

A $4 million shortfall in the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (a.k.a. the folks responsible for our MAX bus system) has the potential to do just by causing them to cut Saturday service and downtown DART service among other things. Check out the Birmingham News’ story so you have an idea of what’s going on before you head out to this afternoon’s city council transit committee meetingĀ  (at 4 p.m.) called by Councilwoman Carol Duncan to figure out next steps.

The new search engine on the block

There are a few folks this morning that are enjoying the newest search engine out there, Cuil. Taking its name from an old Irish word meaning knowledge, one reason for the buzz is because it was built by former Google employees.

Compare the results from Google and Cuil for Birmingham, AL. Then let us know what you think.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank the 140 people that came out and showed some love for the hub last night at The Bottletree (some of whom are pictured above)!

I also want to thank all of the bands that performed last night as well as Christopher Davis, the staff at The Bottletree, Travis Morgan of Skybucket Records for setting up our line up and Adam Stoves for his poster design.

We’ll be sharing photos from Saturday night both here on the site (link to follow) as well as on our page on Facebook both later day and tomorrow. I’d invite you to do the same either by submitting your photos to photos@bhamterminal.com or if you have a Facebook profile by adding them to our page’s fan album.

BTW – No matter where you were, we want to know how much fun was it last night?

The Terminal Concert is tonight!

The show’s tonight, July 26, with doors opening at 8 p.m. Fresh Ground Comic Christopher Davis will be performing and serving as emcee with the following bands performing (with links to their MySpace profiles and recent Timetable articles):
