So I’ve been having conversations with some older, more established publications outside of our market trying to resolve some of our technical issues that would allow us to provide additional features to you on the site. I just wanted to take a moment to apologize for the delay in postings in recent days due to these conversations. I’m hoping that as we get more writers posting, delays during these periods will become less common.
For those that may be interested in helping out, we will be having a writers meeting tomorrow evening, July 26, at our offices. We’ll get started at 5:45 p.m.

We’re getting ready to return to regular posting shortly, after a long weekend of upgrades and failed attempts at creating features for the staff to use.
There is one feature that we’re going to invite you to use – or at least help with – next week we will attempt to roll out our new photoblog. Of course, in order to do that, we need photos.

We figured we’d let you know that you may see some hiccups over the next hour while we do some maintenance on the site. We’re hoping that this upgrade of the system will let us serve you better.
We’ll see though.
We should be operating normally within the next two hours.

For those that already subscribe to The Terminal’s main feed, visiting the site’s front page and clicking on the subscribe link in the menu will now take you to a page that contains links to all available RSS feeds for the different sections of the site and allow readers to sign up to receive updates from the site via email.
[NOTE: The email subscription that you are signing up for is completely different from the email newsletter that we are planning to launch next month. Stay tuned for updates regarding that]
We figured it would be extremely helpful as we prepare to ramp up these other sections of the site that you have immediate access to them, though our Newsstand will always provide timely updates on what’s going on all over The Terminal. More after the jump:

As we continue to grow over here at The Terminal, we’re always looking for more writers to help us cover as much of Birmingham as possible. We’ll be having a meeting for those of you that are interested in writing for the site tomorrow evening starting around 5:45 p.m. at Speakeasy 1920 (1920 3rd Avenue North).
There are several stories that need to be covered in the coming weeks and if you’re willing to write for the fun of it (at least for right now), please feel free to join us. If you can’t and are still interested, please contact us however you see fit.

It took a lot longer to reconstruct than we first thought, but we can now finally say that the Magic City MySpace Directory is back up and running. It’s the first such directory for an individual city or metropolitan area and we know that we don’t have everybody.
Go on over to Timetable and check it out, and stay tuned for a simple way to submit MySpace profiles to the directory beginning later this week!
