Hoover investigation report released

The full report (in PDF format) on the investigation into the Hoover City Schools system has been posted online to be downloaded and reviewed. Copies are also available at the city’s libraries.

We decided to take a look at one of the nuances of the case over on my Birmingham – the use of the bully pulpit by Hoover mayor Tony Petelos to get the report released and just how it may be used by mayor-elect Larry Langford as he prepares to assume the office here in the Magic City next month.

Outback Steakhouse Magic City 7s Rugby Tournament, Regions Park

The Birmingham Vulcans Rugby Club hosts their 24th annual 7s tournament at Regions Park, (formerly known as the Hoover Met). Play will begin at 9 a.m. and end sometime around 3 p.m. Admission is free for spectators. Teams can register for $200 using Paypal.

USA vs. China at the Reg July 25

The 2007 USA Baseball national team will play the national team from the People’s Republic of China at Regions Park (formerly the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium) on July 25 beginning at 7:05 p.m. The game will be the third played as part of the inaugural International Friendship Series being held throughout southeastern United States this summer. It is also the third international exhibition game ever played at the Reg. Continue reading
