Circus Child, Naked Art Gallery

The folks at Naked Art Gallery want you to join them this Friday and Saturday for the opening reception of “Circus Child”, a show by Tina Kirk.Vero’s saying that Tina’s been a favorite among Naked Art’s patrons for almost three years. It will be her very first solo show. The works featured will include a new series of paintings inspired by the world of the circus, along with newly painted furniture and objects. You will want to get here early!

You can either go on Friday evening or enjoy some complimentary teas, coffee and sweets on Saturday afternoon.
There’s even talk of there being some newly redesigned Naked Art t-shirts!

The Show #2, Matthew’s Bar & Grill

No, it’s not an error in our system (though we do have a few). Last week’s first major event for the newly formed Birmingham Art Collective, at one of Birmingham’s newest restaurants, Matthew’s Bar and Grill was so well received that they’ve sent us an email saying that they’re going to be doing an encore. We do not know any additional details about performances at this time.

We do know that it’s The Show, and it’s enjoying a return appearance.

The Collective includes many area artists, writers and musicians. You can download their poster or visit their Facebook group or MySpace profile to learn more information about them and their efforts.

Cost: $0 (though you’ll want to have cash ready for the bar)

Aleksandra Mears solo art exhibition, What’s on 2nd?

The paintings of Russian-born Aleksandra Mears will be shown at her first American exhibit at the fun shop What’s on 2nd?. Mears is a member of the National Association of Women Artists.

Holiday Craft Bazaar, The Bottletree
