New Coke bottles invade the Magic City

Image of new Coca Cola contoured 2-liter bottle. Our local Coca Cola bottler was chosen to distribute the first of the new 2-liter bottles for the classic soft drink. The new bottle design references its famous glass contour bottles. According to the press release, Birmingham and Chattanooga were chosen to introduce the easier to hold and pour bottles because of “their longstanding loyalty to Coca-Cola and the strength of their local Coca-Cola bottler, Coca-Cola United.”

As part of the new bottle roll-out, we should be noticing a new advertising campaign in the near future. Those that visit the McWane Science Center here in the Magic City will also notice contour-shaped recycling bins given by the company to support a larger recycling initiative.

The release also says that you should expect that some of the other 2-liter bottle designs have changed when you visit the grocery this week.
