Share your thoughts on the mock draft constitution – before midnight!

Tonight at midnight is the deadline to offer your comments and opinions about the mock draft constitution created as part of the Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform (ACCR) Foundation‘s Mock Constitutional Convention.

The public comment period has been going on for some time now and the deadline is for your submission of comments considered in the document’s reworking. Doc’s Political Parlor is hosting the commenting period – click here to get started.

Doc also has some additional information about the goals of the exercise – and if you need incentive to check that link out, how about taking a look at the world’s largest constitution (that would be Alabama’s) digitally compared to the U.S. Constitution.

UPDATE: The switch goes on

Despite Congress recently passing a delay of the switch from analog to digital television until June 12, many television stations (including several here in town) are still planning to go forward with “the switch” on the original date of February 17.

Currently NBC 13, CBS 42 and APT 9 all plan to proceed with the signal switch. We’d appreciate it if folks could chime in on if they know whether or not the other local stations will follow suit.

UPDATE: Just got word via Twitter (thanks James Spann) that ABC 33/40 will continue to broadcast in both analog and digital until June 12.

Nope, we’re still going digital on Feb. 17

… at least for now. A bill that would have delayed the switch from analog to digital television until June 12 did not get the votes necessary for passage in the House of Representatives earlier today. This is after the Senate had unanimously approved it on Monday evening. So for the time being, we’ve only got 20 days left to enjoy Fox 6’s FM simulcast on 87.7 FM.
