Time to choose who reigns supreme

Birmingham's Best 2010 logo. Courtesy of The Birmingham NewsWe’ve been looking for a reason to use that headline for some time (it just doesn’t seem to be the same without The Chairman though). Anyway…

Today’s the last day for folks to nominate their favorites for The Birmingham News‘ Birmingham’s Best Readers Poll. If you’re planning to vote you’ve got to make nominations for at least 10 of the 80+ categories listed.

Don’t worry if you don’t see this until Thursday morning – come Friday they’ll share the five finalists in each of the categories and you’ll get another chance to vote again.

Incidentally today’s also the last day to vote for the finalists in this year’s Mashable Awards. There’s also still time to nominate people for the Birmingham Business Journal‘s Top 40 under 40 Awards too (until January 6 to be exact).

Think of it as a warm up for this fall’s municipal elections…

It’s time to vote for Birmingham’s Best again

Birmingham's Best 2009 logoIt’s that time of year again. The Birmingham News and AL.com have announced that they’re taking nominations for the Birmingham’s Best awards through Monday, October 5. You’ve got to enter choices for at least 10 categories and include a valid email address for your submission to be considered. After they tabulate the votes, they’ll give you a top 5 in each category from which you’ll choose Birmingham’s Best in the near future.

Yes, The Terminal came in second last year in the best website category and we still appreciate all of the folks that voted for us. That said, we’ll see what’s in store for us this year – and for everyone else. Don’t wait, get over there and start voting!

BTW – did you vote for the Tuxedo Junction photo online today as well?

Vote The Terminal one of Birmingham’s Best!

We wanted to thank those of you who nominated The Terminal for best website in this year’s Birmingham’s Best poll. We are now one of five sites in the running – and we hope that you can help us enjoy a good showing this year. Just head on over to AL.com and cast your vote for your choice for best website and at least 9 other categories before midnight October 12. The form is only available online this year and we’d appreciate your help in getting the word out to anyone and everyone you know.

Thanks in advance for your continued support of The Terminal – we’re happy to be included with the other sites.

FYI – We’ll have a few new things to show off to you on Monday morning, including a return (although in beta) of our calendar – complete with a few new twists. We’ll let you discover just what some of the other new features are on your own.
