Need some help with that turkey today?

Turkey Talk Line ladies

While many may believe that the Butterball Turkey Hotline is an urban legend, it’s actually true. It’s reallly called the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line and it was ready to go as usual beginning at 6 a.m. local time this morning. If you need to talk with them and get help for cooking that bird today, you’ll have until 6 p.m. tonight (the ladies need to enjoy dinner with their families too afterall).

Holiday open house, area Starbucks

Here’s an invite to come by and taste the holiday drinks and tastes Starbucks has to offer this season — eggnog latte, gingerbread latte, peppermint mocha and more. Best part, it’s free. We like free and think free Krispy Kreme donut day and free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream day should be national holidays. Don’t worry … we’ll let you know when those events are too.

Harvest Brew, SoHo Square

October will be over soon so now is the time to take advantage of this Oktoberfest Celebration. For $10, you’ll get a taste of the newest imports and microbrews available in the state. And you’ll be helping United Way/Birmingham Community Food Bank. So it’s win-win.

Location:

SoHo Square is located in downtown Homewood.

Cost: $10; Tickets on sale the day of the event.

Five Guys x 2

Five Guys logoIf you haven’t ventured over to Brookwood Village to try out Five Guys Famous Burgers & Fries, our newest entry into the world of burger joints here in Birmingham, don’t worry about it … soon you’ll have to choose where you want to go.

The chain, which started in Arlington, Va., and is truly famous nationwide, will soon open its second metro Birmingham location at The Pinnacle shopping development in Trussville next to The Loop. The new location could be seen as providing some interesting close competition to the other burger chain that has recently entered the metro Birmingham market, Red Robin. That location, the Colorado-based company’s third in Alabama, opened earlier this year. We’re guessing that time will tell who’s burger reigns supreme.
