Get Downtown postponed

Yes, it’s been postponed. You wouldn’t want to get swept away in the midst of a storm. This is the second time the event has been canceled. The first time was due to extreme heat back in August. Unlike last time, you won’t have to wait as long for the rescheduled party; the rain date (weather permitting) is next Thursday, Oct. 25.

Why we’ve been a little slow recently

I figured some of the regular visitors to The Terminal may be wondering why we’re not updating as frequently as usual. While some of it has to do with meetings to help expand awareness of the site, most of it has been because we are putting the finishing touches on a new section.

Depending on some last minute coding issues, this new section will be launching either tomorrow or on Monday morning and will be the first of several new announcements about the site in the coming weeks. We think you’ll like what this section will allow you to do.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for your patience and understanding (and of course to plug the t-shirts one more time Smile especially since we’ve finally introduced a white one!)

UPDATE: Election ’07: Langford responds to Cooper filing

UPDATE: 10:40:04 a.m., The motion for dismissal by Langford is up at NBC13: http://media.mgnetwork.com/vtm/images/langford.pdf . Thanks to Steph for finding that.

UPDATE: 10:25:36 a.m., It appears that Fox 6 has removed the Langford document, FYI.

The folks at Fox 6 have obtained a copy of a motion to dimiss the contest filing of former mayoral candidate Patrick Cooper and have posted it on their site. It’s the latest episode in what appears will be a long three week saga here in Birmingham as Cooper attempts to force a special election.

What do you think; has this gone on for too long or should Cooper continue to push for another visit to the polls for Birmingham’s residents?
