Working on a new skate ramp

Those of you that use the 5th Avenue North ramp to access Interstates 20/59 or 65 may only have a second to notice that there’s been a few changes in the landscape over there in recent weeks because of the removal of the skate park from Homewood’s Central Park in July.

Peter Karvonen and the folks at Faith Skate Supply have been working on the makeshift park, with help coming as far away as Florida. We’re intrigued ourselves just because their work site happens to be where the front door of our namesake was located. Maybe it’ll lead to the door opening on some possible long term solutions for this issue.

Click on the link to take a look at more images from a work day on the site.
