Today’s ONB Breakfast Briefing focused on the current status of three projects considered by many to be signature statements for Birmingham, including the Railroad Park and the Marriott Renaissance Hotel to be located in the former Regions Bank headquarters. Tom Leader and HB Brantley presented the current status of the Railroad Park located on the Railroad Reservation on Birmingham’s Southside. Their presentation included current plans for the amphitheater and (pictured above). The amphitheater is being designed by HKW with the 8,000 square foot East Lake Building being worked on by GA Studio.

Harry Lynch from Harbert Realty Services presented current proposed plans for the Marriott Renaissance property at the corner of 5th Avenue and 20th Street North. He reported that plans included reconfiguring the building’s facade (as pictured above), proposed placement of the Starbucks location in the hotel, and hopes for a steakhouse and a fitness center to be among the businesses that lease space in the building that they hope will be completed by late 2009.
