Searching around the web to see what we haven’t seen about Birmingham always brings some interesting results. The most recent discovery was that of a blog started to help make life easier for area moms. Birminghammom.com started last October as what has become a resource for area families to spend more time together. I’d try to do a better job describing it, but I will leave that to the original Birmingham Mom herself.

Made me think of http://www.zombymom.com/, a website created a couple of years ago by a couple of mom's from over the mountain... they had a line of clothing and what-nots. Now, it appears that it's just a landing page... cute logo, nonetheless.

Actually the "culmination" of the Big Read is not the showing of the movie at the Alabama Theater. That is just one of many activities that will continue at public libraries in Jefferson County, through the month of April. On April 11, Mary Badham will be at the Hoover Public Library. On April 12, Birmingham Public's annual "Alabama Bound" presentation will feature, Mary Badham, Dr. Wayne Flynt, Dr. Chris Metress, and Sandy Jaffee during a day long program emceed by Dr. Tondra Loder Jackson. If the "academics"titles worry you, there will be music of the 30's, cars of the 30's and food from the Irondale Cafe. Check out the website "Projectmockingbird.org" for a complete listing.
