A scene similar to this one is playing out throughout the city of Birmingham today as people prepare to make their voices heard. The polls have already been open for three hours and will remain open until 7 p.m. this evening.

There are more than 118,000 people registered to vote in this year’s mayoral election. We hope that you will take the opportunity before you and vote for whoever you think will best serve our City.

Visit our Election ’07 site in case you still have to make up your mind. In particular, visit the Your Questions, Their Answers section to hear from several of the candidates on issues important to you.

Stay tuned later this evening for our coverage of the results of this general election.
