Todd Bates talk about Steve McNair’s legacy

I had the privilege to sit and talk with former University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide captain Todd Bates, a Heflin, AL native who signed as an undrafted free agent with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans in 2005.

Bates was honest about his personal experience with former Titans teammate, quarterback Steve McNair, sharing his thoughts on what McNair’s legacy might be in light of his tragic and untimely death on Saturday in Nashville.

‘Tis a season for children and hope

Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital received a $5,000 gaming system earlier today capable of playing Xbox and Wii™ games courtesy of artist Michael Hunt, former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker and a guy who’s already probably given Alabama fans a pretty nice holiday gift already, Nick Saban.

Saban signed 5,000 prints of a lithograph created by Hunt celebrating the history of Alabama football and one of those was presented to the hospital by Barker and Hunt along with the game system earlier today.

The prints are currently available via a special website with a portion of the proceeds going to children’s charities throughout the state, including the hospital. You can visit the site for more information, or just check out the press release.
