It’s easy to be green this weekend

It’s a full month before Earth Day is celebrated, but Birmingham’s already providing a couple of opportunities to be “green” this weekend.

Tomorrow the Green Resource Center for Alabama will be hosting its second annual Clover Crawl, being held this year at Vulcan Park. This year’s event will include a Green Home & Garden Expo and serve as the drop-off point for this year’s Ecycling Day activities, courtesy of TechBirmingham. You’ll be able to drop off items in the lower parking lot at the site (no TVs please).

For those wanting to partake in the warm weather and take in some greenery, there’s the Japanese Gardens Cherry Blossom Viewing at the Birmingham Botancial Gardens tomorrow starting at 11 a.m.

First Annual Clover Crawl, downtown Homewood

This event will also serve as the open house for the new Green Resource Center for Alabama. Participating restaurants and merchants in downtown Homewood will provide great specials and discounts on food, drink and “green” products as they and the resource center help metro Birmingham and the state of Alabama “Go Green!”
