In a 5-3 voice vote, the Birmingham City Council approved the city budget for the fiscal year retroactive to July 1 at approximately 1 p.m.. Councilor Joel Montgomery was absent from this morning’s meeting.

The scene from the Apple Store The Summit opening
For those that were not able to attend the Apple Store opening, here are a couple of images from the Saturday morning event. More than 1,000 people visited the first retail store for the electronics company in Alabama on April 14 at the Summit shopping center near I-459.
