Take a Moment: Think pink this month

Pink Terminal T

Up above you’ll notice a pink Terminal T. We hope you’re already aware of our black Terminal T-shirt (among others).
Click here to learn about our efforts to support local charities through t-shirt sales. Well, we decided to expand it just a little more for the month of October.

The pink shirts will only be available for the month of October and in addition to the $1 that goes to The Community Kitchens of Birmingham, an additional $1 will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation of North Central Alabama. Spread the word if you can.

Don’t forget about the Race for the Cure coming up on October 13.

Take a moment: Lend a hand in the Gulf Coast

Magic City Mission Logo

Wade Kwon is preparing to make his third trip to the Gulf Coast region (the second with a volunteer group from Birmingham) to help those still feeling the effects from the hurricanes of 2005 and he wants you to join him. He’s looking for 50 folks to give of themselves and join him, Hands on Birmingham, Hands on Gulf Coast and Hands on New Orleans to do their part.

Click on over to Good News, Birmingham to find out more information about this evening’s meeting.

Don’t worry, there will still be plenty of time to run home and watch the debate online or on television afterwards…

Take a Moment: Brew a cup of coffee, support a local organization

We were out starting to place our bright orange fliers around town over the weekend when we stumbled across a yard sale at the Crestwood Coffee Company. The sale was to raise funds for Black Warrior Riverkeeper. It was also a great opportunity to debut a new a new dark roast named in the organization’s honor by Higher Ground Roasters over in Leeds, AL. Proceeds from the sale of the new roast blend will go to support the non-profit organization. You can order it online or pick some up throughout the Birmingham metro region (a list is included in the Locust Fork Journal’s post about the coffee and the yard sale).

What better way to support the cause?

We’re about to turn on the archives, but we’d like to officially announce that the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama was selected by the majority of the 381 people that took the time to vote last week to be the beneficiary of this year’s Happy Hour for a Cause event at The Bottletree. We’d like to thank everyone that voted and hope that you’ll stay tuned to The Terminal as more details about the fund raiser/launch party on August 29 is available.

Take a Moment: ONE Birthdays
