Team IMPACT Informational Session, B & A Warehouse

Team IMPACT (Individuals Motivated by Progress, Action, Commitment and Time) is a new group that will serve as an extension of the area Easter Seals organization’s board of directors, while focusing on volunteerism. They are seeking young professionals interested in making a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities.

This event will be a time to learn more about the group while it is still in its formative stages. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served to those in attendance.

Baseball’s all time greats from Alabama on parade

David Knox over at The News has compiled a list of MLB all-star Alabama natives in time for the start of the second half of the MLB season.

It’s definitely a unique list, with everyone from The Say Hey Kid, to the Wizard of Oz, to a guy that knew it all. An interesting way to get ready for the 2nd half of the season, even if the biggest story may be taking place this weekend in The City of Brotherly Love as the Phillies will inevitably become the first professional sports franchise in modern history to record 10,000 losses (on Friday the 13th even).
