The AeroShell Aerobatic Team was in Birmingham as part of the the 2009 Barber Vintage Festival this past weekend performing an air show. The 5^th edition of the festival also featured bike shows and a swap meet. The team flies the North American AT-6 Texan. The Texan first appeared in 1939 and was designed as a trainer for the United State Army Air Corps. According to the company’s website, the plane is still flown as a basic trainer and as a light attach aircraft by the air forces of 22 countries.
