A new website has appeared on the scene here in Birmingham. The site is called Birmingham Grassroots. Based on what they’ve written on their homepage, the site will focus on Birmingham’s political scene with the hope of representing the voice of the region. They are currently championing the placement of a dome stadium in our city center.

As we post this story to our site, there are currently 126 signatures on their online petition; if you’d like to add your name to the list, click here. We are currently not aware of any other petitions that either support the dome or support it’s construction at the Birmingham Race Course or any of the other proposed sites. If you’re aware of one, please let us know by posting a comment to this entry.

Mayor Langford has said as recently as Tuesday during his State of the City address that he will ask an independent panel to review the list of potential locations for the “dome” though he still prefers the site near the Birmingham Race Course.

We’re still wanting to know what you think over in The Great Room.
