More than 500 people, young and old, attended the first annual YP Expo last night at the Innovation Depot. The event was organized by members of the 25 organizations that took part in the event.
Jason Epstein, a senior vice president for Regions Bank, spoke to the crowd about what they could do to influence the future of the Magic City. Several of the organizations reported receiving completed membership forms on the spot and others were optimistic of the eventual results of the increased visibility among the local YP community.
Organizers are working on an event this fall that will allow the leaders of those organizations and others that were not able to participate to speak with the area’s elected officials about issues that are of concern to the young professional community. They are also optimistic about being able to have the event at least on an annual basis.
