Bob Farley/f8Photo.org – David Davis, Building and Grounds Superintendent at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, adjusts the plastic covering Bull Connor’s armored vehicle at the institute Human Rights Gallery Tuseday morning. The vehicle was used by the Birmingham Poilice Department during the 1960’s. The armored vehicle has been cut in half and will be the focal point of the Institute’s new gallery. BCRI plans to unveil the full renovation during its Martin Luther, Jr. Birthday Celebration on Monday, January 19, 2009.The facility opens free to the public that day at 9 a.m.
