The Birmingham Museum of Art has scored another major exhibit for Fall 2008. It will be the first time that these works, including one of Leonardo’s most celebrated notebooks, the Codex on the Flight of Birds, will be loaned to a U.S. museum. The exhibition, Leonardo da Vinci: Drawings from the Biblioteca Reale in Turin, will open September 28 and run through November 9.
These drawings have never before traveled as a group nor in their entirety been made available outside of Italy and according to this report, software will be used (and necessary) for visitors to fully enjoy the experience of viewing the entire collection of images.
Now may be the time to bookmark the homepage for the exhibit. After the success of the museum’s Pompeii exhibit, we’re sure that you’ll want to get your tickets as soon as they are available.
