I guess they felt like they need to do it now that Obama and Huckabee have. Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards now plans to visit Birmingham, AL on Saturday, though we’re still not quite sure about when and where it will be; we’re thinking it should be up here eventually.

On the Republican side, Arizona Senator John McCain will take his turn stumping in the Magic City on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. His event will take place at the Birmingham Sheraton. We’re figuring that he’ll eventually add the date to his online campaign calendar as well.

That's true Betty, Edwards was here before Obama's and Huckabee's current visits. However, to be fair, Obama was here before Edwards was (in July 2007). Head over to our gallery to view the pictures from the appearance...

Actually, Edwards was here before Obama and Huckabee! I enjoyed hearing him when he was in Birmingham back in September. I think he is the Democrat with the best ideas for creating jobs fast, and for really helping people. I'm hoping I can go and see him on Saturday!! He is very impressive in person, and you can tell how much he cares about people when you see him talking to the crowd. He answers everybody's questions with real details. (I'm a Democrat, but I am glad McCain is coming here, too. )
