It’s the second year in a row that the city has received this dubious distinction from CQ Press, a private publishing company. The results and methodology has already been questioned by the FBI and the American Society of Criminology. Here’s how it’s being reported in the city unfortunately listed as #1 – Detroit, Michigan – complete with the concerns of the folks mentioned in that last sentence.

While the organization informed media outlets that the information would be formally released on Monday morning, there are already several reports online about rankings, including one from the Birmingham News, reporting the results, causing the blogosphere and the web to be abuzz, getting traffic equal to that of the folks doing follow-ups about this year’s American Music Awards winners.

Considering it’s after midnight (on the East coast), we figured that they wouldn’t mind if we provided a link to the report for you to look over prior to The News’ report on the findings in today’s paper.
