There are reports on al.com and bulletins being sent through MySpace saying that voters have been experiencing problems on Birmingham’s east side when attempting to vote in the city’s mayoral election today.

We would like to know if you had any problems when going to vote today. We’d ask that you post a comment to this post. We’d also suggest contacting The Jefferson County Board of Registrars number at 325.5550. With this being a municipal election, the county is the contact and not the state.

Check in with us later on.

We recieved the sample ballot last week. However, at our polling place we were told by polling officials that the School Board vote was not today but would instead happen at the end of the month because "there was going to be a mayoral runoff". Interesting. 7 of 17 precincts are currently reporting results of that election. We definately have serious polling issues if many of the folks I've heard from (and read about) didn't recieve notice of change in venue, and when polling officials didn't even have ballots for the School Board race. I hope the media will be investigating this debacle.

Apparently the city did not process my voter registration card. I turned it in before the cut-off but it was not processed. I was told I had to go vote at my previous address which was at McEwain.

No real problems. But I definitely never received the sample ballot that was mailed out a week and a half ago. I was looking for it to come.
