Jones Valley Urban FarmIf you have to make a stop to pick up a couple of items at the grocery today, consider making the trip out to Whole Foods to do it.

The Austin-TX based grocer selects a non-profit organization in each community it operates in once a quarter to receive 5% of one day store profits. The first organization to receive that donation from the recently opened the Mountain Brook location will be Jones Valley Urban Farm (JVUF).

The monies collected will benefit Seed 2 Plate, a program that is a collaboration between JVUF and the Culinard Institute to deal with the issue of childhood obesity. Please click here to learn more about the program.

Of course, if you can’t make it today, you can always stop by The Gardens of Park Place downtown Monday-Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. and peruse their after work farm stand.
