Some of the major venues have nights without music this week, but there is still some great stuff if you’re willing to go adventuring. Does everyone have their feathered adventuring hats on? Well then, off we go:
Thursday 2/28 | ||
Bear Colony @ Cave 9 |
||
Admission: 6$ | Go Time: 7:00 p.m.
Some folks have told me that I should avoid picking Cave 9 as a destination because you can’t drink there. Also, it’s full of teenagers (which, if you’re a teen, isn’t much of a problem). I say if you wanna drink and meet people your own age, go to a bar! If you want to see good music tonight, get over yourself and go to see Bear Colony at Cave 9.
Friday 2/29 | ||
Joe Lally @ Bottletree | ||
Admission: $10 | Go Time: 9 p.m.
Those of you who know Joe Lally as the anchor of Fugazi are going to be in for a surprise when they get to tonight’s show, but it’s a pleasant surprise I assure you. His solo stuff isn’t nearly as frenetic and furious as Fugazi at their heights, but it makes up for it with grooves dressed up in menace.
Saturday 3/1 | ||
The Gunshy @ Cave 9 | ||
Admission: $6 | Zero Hour: 7 p.m.
The Gunshy is the alias under which a gentleman named Matt Arbogast creates. I’ve got a thing for grit, and Matt’s got it. He’s got a voice like Tom Waits gargling razorblades, but it works man, it works. It’s also the perfect accompaniment to the powerful tales of woe he’s growling about.
Allright, good nights and good luck to you all!
