Hats and Horns New Years Party, B&A Warehouse

The Hats and Horns Societe will host their 7th annual event New Years Eve Party at B&A Warehouse. Proceeds will benefit The Bell Center, The Junior League of Birmingham/Dollywood Imagination Library (scroll down) and the Alabama Child Caring Foundation (in keeping with their mission to raise funds for local charities that support women and children). Partygoers will enjoy a dinner buffet, a silent auction, an open bar with midnight champagne toast and music by Mother Mercy and Hashbrown. Cocktail Attire with black tie optional.

Cost: $100 in advance (online only) $150 at the door (if available)

31st Annual Montclair Run, Levite Jewish Community Center (UPDATED)

UPDATE: 11.26.2007, 10:24 a.m.; Race results are now available.
Looking for a way to work off some pre-turkey calories? The Levite Jewish Community Center is hosting its 31st Annual Montclair Run Thanksgiving day. The 10,000 Meter run starts at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Family Fun event at 9:45. You can register in person at the LJCC or wait until race day prior to the start of the event.
Cost: $30/Family Fun Event $10 (per person)

Best in Show, Rucker Place

Birmingham Boston Terrier Rescue is an area non-profit that works to save, assess and place Boston Terriers in stable, loving homes as well as providing information on how best to care for these lovable animals for current owners. This event serves as a fundraiser for the organization.

Head on over to Rucker Place and take part in a live and silent auction for artwork created regionally as well as a doggie fashion show, live music, cash bar and food by Kathy G.

B’ham Roller Derby Bingo, Speakeasy 1920

Birmingham’s roller derby team, the Tragic City Rollers, are holding a Bingo game over at Speakeasy 1920 on Friday to help fund their trip to Jingle Jangle Jam on December 15 & 16 in Deland, FL. They’ll be competing for a chance to win $5,000 just in time to help buy gifts for the holidays, all the more reason to help them get down there.

Head on over and play bingo, drink beer and get a chance to win prizes from area retailers and restaurants.

Harvest Brew, SoHo Square

October will be over soon so now is the time to take advantage of this Oktoberfest Celebration. For $10, you’ll get a taste of the newest imports and microbrews available in the state. And you’ll be helping United Way/Birmingham Community Food Bank. So it’s win-win.

Kickball rematch set for November 3

Apparently it’s time for rematch season as the Birmingham Kickball All-Stars have announced that they will be playing a rematch against The Tragic City Rollers.

The game is set to take place on Saturday, November 3 at Avondale Park beginning at 3 p.m. The teams have also announced the charities that they will be playing for; the All-Stars will be playing for the Greater Birmingham Humane Society while the Rollers will be playing for Rape Response, a service of the Crisis Center of Birmingham.
