The cash mob bug has bit Alabama’s Magic City as a fan page has been created over on Facebook. The organizers of the page and the movement plan on sharing their first target only after the page has recruited 500 people. It’s probably time to start sharing the link to the page then, isn’t it?

The United Way of Central Alabama has launched a new website and online initiative to help people connect and find out how they can help while leveraging Facebook accounts across metro Birmingham.
Fans of independent film in Birmingham, AL are beginning to organize to attempt to bring a venue to screen them into the city center. Meanwhile, a new multiplex on the city’s east side looks to eventually provide a couple of options for those not wanting to continue to drive elsewhere to enjoy indies.
Birmingham, AL’s finest have turned to social media tools and text messages to help increase the level of communication and information between citizens and those sworn to protect and serve them.
As Birmingham, AL’s local AAA radio station Live 100.5 FM prepares for its format change to news-talk, more than 12,000 people are saying that Citadel’s decision may solve a problem financially, but it will have repercussions for the short term if another station doesn’t step in to fill the gap.
