Saf-T-Net premium service now free for Alabama residents

The state is now the recipient of a gift courtesy of a Huntsville-based technology firm. Baron Services announced during a 1 p.m. news conference that it would be making its premium Saf-T-Net weather alert system available to all Alabama residents for free.

Cruising and guzzling around metro Birmingham

The new walkability scores from WalkScore.com for the state of Alabama are out. While Birmingham climbed a few spots up the list, its overall score didn’t. It also happened to coincide with the release of data taking a look at how much some of our residents are paying for gas per month. Yes, it’s a little disturbing.
