Time’s running out for folks who feel like texting (or emailing or sending tweets) while driving anywhere in Alabama. Beginning August 1, 2012, Alabama joins the District of Columbia and 37 other states in banning texting while driving.
The state is now the recipient of a gift courtesy of a Huntsville-based technology firm. Baron Services announced during a 1 p.m. news conference that it would be making its premium Saf-T-Net weather alert system available to all Alabama residents for free.
Supporters of the Birmingham, AL-based, grassroots non-profit organization Free the Hops are being called into action by the group in advance of the Gourmet Bottle Bill being up for vote in the Alabama State Senate on February 21, 2012 via the special order calendar.
