In case you’re wondering, we’ve already posted the names of the winners of the eight weekend passes we’ve been giving away for  City Stages on the contest page. We’d like to take a moment and thank everyone who entered (and there were a lot of you) - and now we’d like to say that we still have two passes left to give away…

We were thinking of the most fair way to give these two passes away while seeing folks show their love for the music festival (as well as for us)… and we’ve settled on giving them away separately. Here’s the catch, we’ve got to see you tomorrow (Friday) at lunchtime over at Java and Jams (321 20th Street North).

The entry form is still open and we’ll be announcing the winners of two more pairs of weekend passes next week Monday. If you entered last week before 5 p.m., we’re going to ask you to resubmit your entry.

When we last left our friendly neighborhood blog for the holiday weekend, we teased you about giving away tickets to City Stages 20 this week(we also teased about our upcoming concert in July, but more on that later on)…

Despite some delays this morning, we’re now happy to finally invite you to enter our latest contest! We’re giving away two (2) sets of weekend passes to the music festival each week for the next two weeks.

So don’t just sit there, enter for a chance to win (and tell your friends too).

Earlier this week, Scrollworks and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (MYO) announced a remix contest. For those not familiar with the concept, you’ll want to check out the details on their blog. You get to rework a recording of the MYO in concert performing Paganini’s “Moses Variations” with Michael Fernandez, principal violist of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.

Why should you be interested in this? Because you have a chance to win $250, that’s why! That and it means that you’ll want to go to the MYO’s concert at the Carver Theatre on May 11 to find out who wins. You may also want to take a moment and learn more about this incredible project taking place in The Magic City…
