I’m not sure how many of you have heard about the fact that there’s a blog-a-thon taking place in Birmingham today, but we wanted to make sure that you did know – as well as learn more about how you can participate.

Women's Fund blog-a-thon informationThe Women’s Fund of Birmingham is partnering with NBC 13 to present the first ever Blogging Against Violence online event. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the issue of domestic violence and to raise funds for the Women’s Fund.

More info after the jump…

There will be bloggers writing from the NBC 13 studios this afternoon between 3 – 7:30 p.m. as well as others who will add their thoughts and opinions from across the Southeast. Links to posts written by participating bloggers, tweets, etc. will be shared on this section of NBC 13’s website. There will also be a live video feed with interviews from folks coming into the studio as part of the event.

I did my own write-up on the event on my personal blog, Dre’s Ramblings, yesterday and will post to it, bhamterminal.com and Urban Conversations at various points throughout the day. I hope that you can help us spread the word via blog, email, Twitter (using the hashtag #wfundbham), Facebook or maybe even a phone call…

Thanks in advance.
