Learn Who’s Who in Black Birmingham

August 7th, 2008 by Andre Natta · 1 Comment

Tonight some of the city’s most prominent African American leaders will be gathering tonight at the Birmingham Museum of Art to learn who’s been highlighted in the latest edition of Who’s Who in Black Birmingham. The event starts at 6 p.m. In addition to the unveiling of the 2nd edition of the book (which attendees receive as part of their $50 ticket price), organizers are hoping to provide up to 1,000 of the city’s best and brightest Blacks the opportunity to network with one another.

If you can’t attend, this link is scheduled to go live with images from the unveiling ceremony at a later date.

What was the criteria for inclusion? I found it curious that Barbara Sirmans, the first African American director of the Birmingham Public Library system, was not included.
