Let’s clear up this voting confusion (or part of it)

A quick note for those of you who have not voted as of yet today…

When you arrive at your voting location, you’ll eventually be handed a ballot. When you fill the ballot out, you must:

Select the candidate that you’re going to vote for, and
Select the delegates that correspond with your candidate (e.g. if you vote for Obama, don’t vote for Edwards’ delegates). You may choose no more than 8 delegates total for your candidate (that’s 4 men and 4 women). Double check before you leave otherwise your vote may not count.

Then, relax, enjoy the warm weather, and wait for the results…

That’s true for the Democratic ballot; the Republican ballot isn’t divided into men and women. You select one delegate per box for your candidate.

I felt like an idiot staring at that page full of people I’ve never heard of. It took me a couple of minutes just to find the damn instructions. What the hell is up with that? I still have no idea why I was voting for the Democratic delegates. Oh well, at least I got to vote for Michael Jackson.
