While this may not affect many people, it will affect some in the area. A special alert has been sent out by the people over at the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) stating that counterfeit official checks bearing the First American Bank name are currently in circulation.

The checks have routing number 022000868 and are tan in color, in addition to a telephone number that is not associated with the bank.
