The Birmingham Zoo has determined that this year’s Run for the Animals cannot be rescheduled due to scheduling conflicts. They have announced that those that were to participate in the race will now be able to enjoy a Free Day at the Zoo this coming Sunday, June 10.
Zoo officials, after consulting with representatives of the Birmingham Track Club, decided to cancel this year’s race on May 11 due to lightning. It would have been the second running of the race, which benefited Wild Elephant Conservation.
The zoo has placed the announcement on their website, asking those that partake in this event to check in at a table near the zoo entrance to claim their free ticket. It also contains how to get additional details.
