UAB opens adult Down Syndrome Clinic

May 25th, 2007 by Andre Natta · 1 Comment

UAB has announced the creation of one of the only adult Down Syndrome clinics in the United States. It results from improvements in treatment and diagnosis of the condition.

This story, most likely the original press release announcing the clinic’s creation, expands on the reasons for the creation of the clinic and some of its features.

The university’s official site appears to be receiving an uncharacteristically high numbers of visits as we post this; it would be interesting to know if this announcement might be contributing to this.

This is something that is needed everywhere. My hats off to UAB! The next thing is for there to be a Alzheimer’s daycare for people who have elderly parents who have this disease.
