Magic City Classic LogoNow, considering that most of you have already seen the billboards, the commercials, and have already planned which parties you’re going to attend (both tonight and tomorrow), there’s not much more to say about Birmingham’s biggest sports event of the year.

The Magic City Classic kicks off tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at historic Legion Field. The parade will begin downtown at 9 a.m. taking this route to the field with Sinbad serving as Grand Marshal. One thing that folks need to be aware of for this year’s game is the new park-n-ride system that’s been set up to make it easier to get to and from the game. Follow the jump to see specific information about traffic and parking for the event. Don’t forget to visit our friends over at Urbanham.com as they are an official media sponsor of this year’s event.

You may also want to consider submitting your pics from The Classic to The Rumble. You can always send them in via email: photos@bhamterminal.com.

We’ve been told that we’ve been somewhat weak in our coverage leading up to the game. Considering we’re just seven months old and we’re still not on everyone’s press release list, we can see why some would say that. The only story that we have done on the event was a Terminal-like angle telling people that attended the parade this Saturday that they’d be able to get their hands on some free ice cream (a story that almost didn’t run because the original post had been removed from the Mayfield Ice Cream website). We hope that as we grow in the coming years that we will be able to serve as a better resource.
